Lazy & Cheap Sunday: Beauty Swap

Today, over Sunday brunch, I took part in my first 'beauty swap'. I got together with three girl friends- we each brought along makeup, hair and skin products that we no longer want and over brunch we swapped it! It's such a simple idea and a great way to get rid of the items you don't need but would like to see go to a good home. You can also walk away from a beauty swap with lots of new things to try - and no money spent. The products had to be worthy of the swap (not rubbish stuff you were going to throw out anyway) and everyone brought some great stuff. Out of the 11 items I contributed, I was only left with one (a bright green nail polish, so I can't really blame em!) and I picked out five things I wanted to take home...

St Ives Apricot Scrub for Sensitive Skin - always wanted to try this best selling face scrub! I love the smell of this one and I'm keen to use it once or twice a week as I don't currently have a face scrub in my skincare routine.

Smashbox Eye Pencil - I've stepped away from kohl pencil eyeliner and I've been using gel and liquid a lot recently, but I'm keen to try a new black pencil and this one from Smashbox is super soft and fingers crossed, long lasting!
MAC Creme Cup - very cleverly, my friend had melted down her MAC Creme Cup lipstick into this teeny pot and I was keen to get my hands on it. After being such a fan of Angel I wanted to see how Creme Cup would compare!
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer - I've heard these are a bit hit and miss and some people are crazy over them and others, not so much. But I'm appreciating that I get to test out this gorgeous coral shade for free and make up my mind! (I think this shade is Luna)
The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser - is it a primer? Is it a treatment? I think both! I can't be sure, but I love anything Tea Tree and my pores certainly do need minimising! I've read good reports that this product also helps to reduce shine on oily skin and helps keep your makeup on for longer.

Have you been involved in a makeup/beauty swap? We're planning on having more in the future, and thinking of all sorts of things we can swap...
